In Costa Rica all imports are subject to high taxes. If you are sending anything, we suggest checking first with your shipping company about all the possible taxes that may apply; besides it is advisable to send items at from one to two months in advance.
We do not recommend sending perishables or high value items, beverages, food, chemical products, jewelry, or cosmetics. Besides the high taxes, most of these items need a special license to enter the country, and the paper work could take 6 months or more. |
